Skype in China

Es dürfte Ernst werden für Skype Benutzer in China.
Nach vielen offiziellen Statements seitens Vertretern von China Telecom und der Regierung die verwendung von Skype zu blockieren, gibt es seit zwei Tagen immer wieder Verbindungsprobleme mit Skype.
Für mich ein Zeichen dass da herumgeschraubt wird.

Warum ist das Interesse Skype zu blockieren so groß?
1. Unkontrollierte (weil unzensurierte) Kommunikation vor allem ins Ausland
2. China Telecom bietet selbst IP Telefonie an.

Man wird sehen wie es weiter geht, möglich wäre auch dass es sich bei den derzeitigen Unterbrechungen nur um ein digitales "Säbelrasseln" handelt.

It looks like doomsday is approaching for Skype users in China.
After several statements from China Telecom and government officials in the past, stating that they want to block the use of Skype, there are serious connection interruptions with Skype since two days.
For me a sign that they are tweaking around.

Why do they want to block Skype?

1. Uncontrolled (means uncensored) communication exspecially to abroad
2. China Telecom are offering IP-telephony services themselves

We will see how this developes, possible that the current interruptions are only a kind of digital "sabre-rattling".
